Sharks Aquatics is privileged to announce the appointment of Ken Malcolm as Head Coach for Sharks Aquatics and the Broadwater Sharks Swim Team.
Ken comes to Sharks with over 25 years of Coaching experience across both NSW & QLD, most noticeably as the long-term Head Coach of St Hildas Aquatics & previous to that Trinity Aquatics, a powerhouse Club in Northern NSW.
During his time as a Head Coach, Ken has achieved many wonderful accolades including;
2021 SGC Coach of the Year
2021 SGC Club of the Year
as well as numerous Swimming Queensland High Performance Coach awards and scholarships. He has coached swimmers to great success including a Silver Medal at the Tokyo Olympics, several Australian Records, world MC 400m Free record and Gold, Silver & Bronze medalists at the Australian Open and National Age Championships.
Ken's philosophy is to "Educate athletes on swimming the best they can as an individual, fast & with correct technique with a strong sports education. Swimming is a skill for life that will open many doors and should be inclusive for everyone. If a swimmer can mature through adolescence, it will benefit them for life and for generations to come as their kids follow the swimming path, being healthy and making friends for life. If we can achieve this as a coach, then we have done our job."
The team and athletes look forward to welcoming Ken to our family and continuing to grow the love of swimming in our region.
